5 Natural and Effective Home Remedies for Arthritis
While painkillers can be effective, they are not always the best choice for long-term arthritis management. Painkillers only hide the symptoms of arthritis, not the underlying cause. This can result in a false sense of security because the person may feel good while taking the painkiller, but the joint damage may worsen.
Natural home remedies can be a safe and effective way to manage arthritis symptoms. Natural remedies for arthritis commonly take a proper approach, focusing on healthy lifestyle choices, diet, exercise, and stress reduction rather than simply disguising the symptoms with medication. This can lead to overall better joint health and well-being.
Let’s have a look at the 5 Natural Remedies for Arthritis
1. Adding Curcumin to Your Diet
Turmeric is a spice that has been used in every house in India. It contains curcumin can help with arthritis pain by reducing inflammation in the body. Arthritis is basically an inflammation, which causes swelling and pain in the joints. Curcumin has been shown to reduce joint pain and stiffness by reducing the production of certain enzymes that encourage inflammation in the body.
Turmeric can be taken up in a variety of ways, such as a cooking spice, as a supplement, and as a tea.
You might start to think about consuming more turmeric in your food from now on. However, it is not possible to get enough curcumin by simply eating turmeric with food because turmeric only contains 2-5% of curcumin and our body has a limited ability to absorb curcumin.
This led me to formulate my own curcumin supplement which has a patented turmeric root complex and 10 times more absorbability than normal curcumin.
2. Maintain Good Posture and Use SupportGood posture and support can distribute weight more evenly throughout the body, lowering joint stress. This can assist with decreasing discomfort and stiffness in arthritis-affected joints.
Arthritis can cause joints to become asymmetrical or to shift out of place. Good posture and support can help to promote proper joint alignment, lowering the risk of more damage or injury.
When dealing with arthritis, people can use the following advice to maintain proper posture and get the assistance they need:
- Straighten your back and shoulders when you sit and stand up; avoid slouching or leaning to one side.
- If you have knee pain, you should wear supportive footwear and stay away from heels because they put an excessive amount of force and stress on the knee.
A diet low in lectins may be good for people with arthritis. Several plant-based foods, such as grains, legumes, and nightshade vegetables, include lectins. Although these foods are typically regarded as being nutritious and healthy, they can also contain significant amounts of lectins, which can have harmful effects on the body.
Lectins can cause arthritis by making the body more inflammatory. Lectins have the capacity to stick to the lining of the digestive system, which can upset the balance of healthy bacteria in the gut and cause inflammation and intestinal wall damage. The effects of arthritis then increase as a result of the body becoming inflamed throughout, particularly in the joints.
In order to reduce inflammation, it is advised to consume nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory foods like leafy greens, berries, fatty fish, and healthy fats like avocado and olive oil. Although, if you still cannot avoid eating lectins, make sure to soak and boil the legumes in order to destroy the lectins.

Note: It is important for persons with arthritis to begin their exercise program slowly and increase the duration and intensity over time. It's also crucial to pay attention to your body and to stop if you feel any pain or discomfort.
5. Integrating Collagen to Your Food RegimeCollagen is a protein that is found in many tissues throughout the body, such as cartilage, bone, and skin. Collagen is especially important in the case of arthritis because it is a key element of cartilage, which softens the joints and allows them to move smoothly.
In a study published in the National Library of Medicine, collagen supplementation improved joint pain, stiffness, and physical function in individuals with knee osteoarthritis.
Collagen is found primarily in animal products such as bone broth, fish, meat, and eggs. If you are not fond of consuming meat, you can take a collagen supplement such as Build Joints Back instead.
